Ramadan 2016

I got to break the fast with friends almost every evening during the month of Ramadan this year. It was a lot of fun and the food was excellent!

Back in North Africa!

Shortly after returning to Tunisia, I got to spend a few days in the town of Zaghouan. It’s a small town in the mountains that has some nice hiking trails and old Romans ruins.

B’sissa: The Breakfast of the Strong

It’s been so much fun to share B’sissa with my American friends and have them really enjoy it. One couple in particular keeps asking me if I have any more of it. I don’t have any more, and so far I’ve been unsuccessful finding it online or in middle eastern shops. I do have the recipe though! Anyone interested? Here’s the link: B’sissa!

A Tunisian’s experience in America

A Tunisian girl that I now got a scholarship to study in America for a year. I asked her what she likes and doesn’t like about living here and this is what she wrote…… “People here in Kentucky rarely know where Tunisia is on the map (or that it exists). People can't tell where I'm from by looking at me. Mostly, they all think I'm an American who, for some reason, dresses up way fancier than others. Having now moved off campus, I get too much unwanted attention from men. They're polite, but too insistent.”
